Upper School Studio Art Project
The Upper School Studio Art students were trained in classic wood staining and finishing techniques through an assignment which resulted in the beautiful rocking chair. An Early American stain was rubbed into the grain of this piece of furniture giving it a down-home look, finished with a satin Polycrylic to ensure a lifetime of protection and shine. Nationally known sign painter and pin striper Igor Accord performed a demonstration for our students by painting an innovative and unique design on the surface of the wood, making this custom rocking chair one-of-a-kind. Upper School students: Erica Carlson, Dayjah Edwards, Jeff Jones, Nathan McMillan, Garrett Myers, Tyler Taylor, Tessa Wagner, Samantha Baggaley, Rachel Sarah Berman, Amanda Harrington, Emma Lundgren, Seth Porter, and Adam Thompson.
